RE_ 670 Connectivity Package Base, developed by ABB Power Technologies AB, is a core software add-on for ABB’s Protection and Control IED Manager (PCM600). It provides the foundational connectivity and engineering data required to work with Relion 670 series protection and control IEDs, such as REL, RED, REB, REC, RET, and REG 670.
The package supplies device drivers, data models, parameter structures, and communication profiles that enable online and offline configuration, parameterization, and diagnostics. With it, engineers can browse and edit settings, manage signals, retrieve disturbance records and event lists, and carry out IEC 61850 engineering tasks, including SCL import/export and dataset/report configuration.
As a base package, it delivers common components shared across the 670 series; device-specific capabilities are enabled by installing the corresponding product connectivity packages. Designed for commissioning, operation, and maintenance workflows, it helps streamline substation integration, supports version alignment between PCM600 and IED firmware, and promotes consistent naming and documentation.
